Sudan's official news agency SUNA has reported that the United Nations is working with the country's government to find donors for its humanitarian aid programs for the 2025 emergency.

In his conversation with Mona Nourel Daim, Head of the Sudan Humanitarian Aid Committee, the new United Nations representative in Sudan, Tom Fletcher, has emphasized the need for increased joint efforts to deal with the increasing war and conflict in Sudan.

Fletcher arrived in Port Sudan on Saturday in his first humanitarian assignment since being appointed as the United Nations Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator in Sudan. He assumed that responsibility on the 18th of this month of November.

The main victims of the power-hungry war between military generals in Sudan are ordinary citizens, especially women and children

Fletcher has called his visit an opportunity to assess the humanitarian situation on the ground and listen directly to the complaints of war victims in Sudan.

Sudan has plunged into a serious internal conflict between the Sudanese SAF and the RSF since the middle of April 2023. According to the United Nations, the serious conflict has caused the deaths of more than 27,120 people in Sudan.

In addition, the crisis has caused more than 14 million people to leave their homes inside and outside of Sudan. That is according to the latest estimates of the International Organization for Migration.
