WASHINGTON-A Manhattan jury found Donald Trump guilty of sexually harassing journalist and writer E. Jean Carroll, saying the longtime columnist for "Elle" magazine is entitled to $5 million in damages. Nova News reports it. The jury also upheld Carroll's later defamation charges against the former US president.

The jurors, six men and three women, deliberated for only two and a half hours, then it was time for the verdict. The journalist had accused the former US president of sexually harassing her in the 1990s, launching a further lawsuit in 2022 for defamation, after Trump had publicly stated that the woman "she's not my type". The former US president had denied all the allegations, not testifying during the trial and repeatedly stating that the woman accused him to advertise the sale of his latest book.
