The United States continues to pressure the Ukrainian government to agree to hand over its unique mineral wealth to White House leaders, and now Donald Trump's team has secretly met with opponents of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The Trump administration is openly increasing pressure on Volodymyr Zelenskyy to resign and in the most recent move, four senior members of Trump's team have held secret talks with some of the Ukrainian president's most senior political opponents again in the country's capital, Kyiv.

This was revealed by the American newspaper The Politico, which wrote that three Ukrainian lawmakers and a political analyst from the American Republican Party met with Zelenskyy's main opponents in Kyiv, including former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, who is known for her love of power. The Trump team also met with other high-ranking members of the party of former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.

According to the report, discussions between senior members of Trump's team and opponents of the Ukrainian president have focused on the possibility of holding early presidential elections in the country.

According to the Ukrainian constitution, the election has been postponed due to the continuation of martial law. The Politico continued: Opponents of the election say that its process could be chaotic and end up in favor of Russia. According to the American website, Trump aides are confident that Zelensky will not be reelected in any election due to the negative effects of the war, widespread corruption and his declining popularity.
