Trump threatens BRICS members with 100% tariffs if they abandon the US dollar

US President Donald Trump has announced that if the BRICS countries create their own currency and refuse to use the US dollar in mutual settlements, they will face 100% tariffs on goods imported into the US.

"The idea that the BRICS countries are trying to move away from the dollar while we stand by and watch is over. We are going to demand a commitment from these seemingly hostile countries that they will not create a new BRICS currency or support any other currency to replace the mighty US dollar, or they will face 100% tariffs and must expect to say goodbye to sales to the great US economy," Donald Trump wrote.

According to him, "there is no chance that BRICS will replace the US dollar in international trade." "Any country that tries to do this should welcome tariffs and say goodbye to America," he concluded.

The awards office received more than 400 applications this year from entrepreneurs, media representatives, researchers, and environmental activists.

Citing TV BRICS,  that participants from 13 countries, including Brazil, China, Ethiopia, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, South Africa, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and the UAE, were competing for the award.

According to Dilbar Sadikova, President of the Academy of Youth Diplomacy, it was very difficult to determine the winners.

The "Young Researcher of the Year" award was presented to Hasna Salimi, a representative of Iran.
