Turkey suspends trade relations with Israel

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has spoken after Turkey's decision to suspend all trade relations with Israel and explained why Ankara took this decision.

In an address through platform X, the Turkish president said that all the consequences of this decision will be coordinated with Turkey's business sector.

"In order to force Israel to cease fire and increase the amount of humanitarian aid it allows, we first imposed export restrictions on 54 product groups. As of yesterday, we have suspended export-import transactions with Israel, covering all products. We will coordinate the consequences of this action together with our business world," Erdogan said.

He emphasized that Turkey does not want enmity with any country and added: "We have no enmity or conflict with any country in our region. As I have said in every case, we do not want to see conflicts, blood and tears in our region. Like all religions, we want to live together in peace, prosperity and stability."

"We have one goal here and that is to force the Netanyahu government, which has gotten out of control with the unconditional military and diplomatic support of the West, into a ceasefire. The goal will be achieved if a ceasefire is declared and sufficient humanitarian aid is allowed into Gaza. This move by Turkey will be an example for other countries that are worried about the current situation", he concluded.
