UNICEF demanded an immediate ceasefire in Gaza
UNICEF has called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza to protect children and facilitate humanitarian access.
UNICEF has called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza to protect children and facilitate humanitarian access. Deputy Director of the United Nations Children's Fund Ted Shiban said. "We demand an immediate ceasefire to protect the children of Gaza and to facilitate the access of humanitarian aid."
According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, more than 14 thousand children were martyred during the Gaza war from October 7, 2023.
Ted Shiban noted: "The humanitarian situation in Gaza is getting worse, and the number of displaced people has reached 1.9 million."
At the same time, the number of trucks bringing humanitarian aid to Gaza increased from 100 trucks a day in August to 15 trucks a month in September. This, in turn, increases the suffering of the residents of the Gaza Strip.
In this regard, the monitoring committee of governments' adherence to the UN Children's Rights Agreement has announced. "The violations committed by Israel in Gaza are the most terrible violations of the international treaty on the protection of children's rights in the history of the modern era."
The horrific death of children in the Gaza Strip is unprecedented in history. This is one of the dark pages of modern history.
The committee demanded immediate assistance to the thousands of children injured in Gaza and to allow the injured to leave.
