US: We have sent a message to Iran, we don't want the war to spread

A spokesman for the United States National Security Council said that his party had sent a message to Iran that Washington did not want war to spread in the West Asia region. John Kirby, Tuesday (12/12/2023) said, "We have sent a message to Iran that we do not want to see bigger fighting in the region." This statement was conveyed by the spokesperson for the United States National Security Council, during an interview with the NBC News television station. In the interview, John Kirby emphasized that the US was very concerned about the expansion of the Gaza war, and Washington did not want to see the opening of a new war front in the north between Israel and Lebanon's Hezbollah. Iran has repeatedly announced that it has no proxy forces in West Asia, and resistance groups in a number of regional countries are completely independent, and take their own decisions. The spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Kanaani, in various press conferences always emphasized this problem. Meanwhile, the US is the biggest supporter of the Zionist Regime, in its brutal attack on the Gaza Strip. To date, the US has sent weapons worth hundreds of millions of dollars to Israel. Recently President Joe Biden's administration, using emergency powers, without Congressional approval, sent more than 14,000 tank rounds to Israel. Additionally, the US is the main opponent of the humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza. On Saturday, Washington again vetoed a draft resolution on an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza. Even though 13 member countries of the UN Security Council, the others voted in favor, except for Britain, which chose to abstain. (HS)
