Uzbekistan allocates $1.5 million to provide assistance to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip
The government of Uzbekistan has allocated $1.5 million to provide assistance to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
In response to the occupation and the crimes of the Zionists, the Palestinian resistance forces launched a comprehensive and unprecedented Operation Al-Aqsa Storm from the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023 against the positions of the Zionist regime in the occupied territories. Since the beginning of the operation, the Zionist regime, which is unable to confront the Palestinian resistance fighters, has committed a clear crime by continuously bombing residential buildings, hospitals, religious centers and schools in Gaza. As a result, more than 8,500 people were martyred and many were injured. According to a UZNews news agency report in Tashkent yesterday, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, at a meeting on the current situation in Palestine and the Israeli army’s strikes on the Gaza Strip, said: “Uzbekistan will send $1.5 million to the UN Near East Agency to provide all possible assistance residents of the Gaza Strip." Gaza Mirziyoyev further added: “We express our strong solidarity with the people of Palestine and support their right to establish their independent state in accordance with previously adopted resolutions of the General Assembly and the UN Security Council.”
