Veto on the Westerners' resolution regarding the crossing of Bab el-Havi in Syria

Russia vetoed a Western resolution to extend the delivery of UN aid through the Syrian border crossing Bab al-Havi.The Bab al-Havi crossing on the Syrian-Turkish border is occupied by the terrorist group Tahrir al-Sham (Al-Nusra Front) and its allied groups.According to AAA news agency, yesterday at a meeting of the UN Security Council, Russia opposed the extension of the UN operation to provide assistance to northwestern Syria through the Bab al-Havi checkpoint for one year.
 
Another vote is due on Moscow's proposal to extend this plan by 6 months.The Western resolution was proposed by Switzerland and Brazil and received the support of America, Great Britain and other Western countries.The UN plan to provide assistance to northwest Syria, which has been underway since 2014, ended on Monday.
 
The Damascus government has always stressed that the Tahrir al-Sham terrorist group is confiscating humanitarian aid and preventing the Syrian people from accessing it.The Syrian authorities say that any humanitarian aid to the population of this country must be carried out through an official channel and through the government so that it reaches those in need.
