What the Ukrainian Crisis Reveals About Western Racism and Double Standards?
By: F. Najafi
Not so long ago, the Ukrainian war entered its second year. Over the course of the conflict, the United States and its European allies have been outspoken critics of Russia's special military operations in Ukraine while also fueling the conflict through interventionist measures like imposing an embargo on Russian goods, seizing Russian assets, and providing Ukraine with military hardware.
The speed with which the European Union reacted to the situation in Ukraine and the help offered for Ukrainian war refugees demonstrated how double-standard and biased the West's standard may be.
As a result of the unprecedented influx of Ukrainians into EU countries, the European Union activated its temporary protection mechanism for the first time in its history and passed legislation to help member countries deal with the resulting humanitarian crisis. The European Commission immediately began interacting with EU member states to collect information on the status of Ukrainian refugees in order to prevent human trafficking.
On November 29, 2022, the UNHCR released the most recent updated report on the whereabouts of Ukrainian refugees in Europe.
In this respect, according to Riyad Haddad, Syria's ambassador to Russia, Washington is deploying ISIS and Al-Nusra Front terrorists to Ukraine with the help of Turkey. Hadad stressed that the US, in coordination with the Turkish government, was transferring terrorists from the Syrian Idlib province to battlefronts in Ukraine.
The western bloc has committed substantial financial and military support for Ukraine; however, it has paid no heed to the plight of the Palestinian people or the appeals to bring attention to Israel's persistent violations of human rights.
