The Yemeni media have reported that the opposition of the people of the south of the country against the presence of American troops in the Red Sea and interfering in the internal affairs of the country has gained momentum. Yemen's al-Mash'had al-Janoubi news site has written about the presence of American troops in the Red Sea that: In the shadow of the current events in the southern regions of Yemen and the international competition to control the wealth of the region, concern and the criticism of politicians and activists in southern Yemen regarding the presence of American troops in the region is increasing.

According to the report, the US military is trying to arm itself in the Red Sea in the guise of the international coalition. This is despite the fact that independent movements in Yemen see the presence of these soldiers as an intervention in Yemen's internal affairs. Political activists in the south of Yemen believe that the presence of US military forces in the region is not to fight terrorism, but to achieve colonial and economic goals, and that strategic sea routes and natural resources values in that area should be controlled. It should be noted that the southern areas of Yemen are generally controlled by separatist groups with ties to Saudi Arabia and the Emirates. American and British troops are also present in some of those areas.
