3 American soldiers killed, 30 injured in Jordan; Iraqi forces confirm involvement
Three US soldiers have been killed in a drone attack on a small military base in Jordan.
The attack happened yesterday Sunday in the area of the 22nd Tower near the border with Syria, being the first incident of the killing of American soldiers in this area since the Zionist regime started a war and massacre in the Gaza Strip in early October. The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has issued a statement confirming the killing of the soldiers and the wounding of 30 others in the drone attack that targeted "a camp in northeastern Jordan." A US official has told the Reuters news agency that at least 34 soldiers are being examined to see if they may have brain damage. The Iraqi Islamic Resistance Movement of Kataaeb Hizbullah has issued a statement to announce that it was responsible for the drone attack on the Al-Tanf station on the border of Syria and Jordan. In December, US officials announced that military bases housing US troops in Iraq and Syria had been attacked at least 97 times since October 17. At the same time, the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement HAMAS has said that the attack has sent a clear message to the United States. "The killing of three American soldiers is a message to the American administration that if the killing of innocent people in Gaza does not stop, it must face the entire public," said Sami Abu Zuhri, the chief spokesman of Hamas, in a statement he gave regarding the incident. Abu Zuhri has added by saying: "the continuation of American and Zionist attacks against Gaza could burn the entire region". For its part, the Jihadul-Islami Movement of Palestine has also given a response to the attack and condemned the warning given by the United States that the situation of chaos may worsen in the region. "The operation that targeted American forces is a natural and legal response against the presence of the United States, which is an invading force in our region". The Palestinian resistance movement has added that the operation is also a response to Washington's "shameless support" for the genocide carried out by the brutal Zionist regime against the Palestinians in Gaza, which has been going on for almost four months now, while the US administration is the who lead them, isolate them and protect them from killing in all circumstances. The latest attack has come as the state of anxiety is increasing in the region in parallel with the continuing war and barbaric crimes of the Zionist regime in the Gaza Strip.../
