Lisa Lawrence, a spokeswoman for the US Department of Defense (Pentagon), said: "In support of efforts to free the hostages, the United States has resumed unarmed drone flights over the Gaza Strip. We continue to provide advice and assistance to our Israeli partner to free the hostages." The Israeli army said 136 hostages, including 17 women and children, were still being held in the Gaza Strip. Meanwhile, families of Israeli prisoners chanted slogans against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Tel Aviv on Thursday evening. The protesters demanded to put pressure on the Netanyahu government to return the prisoners. The demonstration took place as Osama Hamdan, one of the leaders of the Hamas movement, addressed the families of Zionist prisoners: “The continuation of the crimes of the Israeli army will not force your loved ones to return.” The Zionist newspaper Haaretz previously wrote in a report on the situation of Zionist prisoners: “The released prisoners complain more about the policies of Benjamin Netanyahu than they criticize Hamas.”
