Amnesty International: Israel Used White Phosphorus in Attacks on South Lebanon
Amnesty International in a statement on Wednesday (1/11/2023) reported that a necessary investigation must be carried out into the Zionist regime's attack in southern Lebanon on October 16 which left at least six civilians injured in this indiscriminate attack. "Our investigation shows that Israel used white phosphorus poison weapons in this attack," said an Amnesty International statement. White phosphorus is a toxic substance that penetrates flesh and burns and damages skin and flesh. In addition, if inhaled over the long term, white phosphorus can cause severe sores in the mouth and break jaw bones. Short-term inhalation of this substance also causes serious damage to the lungs and trachea. White phosphorus bombs are incendiary weapons that emit thick smoke when they burn. In a report compiled by Amnesty International experts, it was stated that images and videos related to Israeli attacks in the southern region of Lebanon show that the Zionist regime used white phosphorus in its attacks on this Israeli territory from 10 to 16 October 2023.
