42 Chinese companies were blacklisted by the US
The US Commerce Department has added 42 Chinese companies to its trade list for their support of Russia in the war with Ukraine.
The United States has added 42 Chinese and seven companies from other countries to sanctions lists for supplying American microchips to Russia. This was reported by Reuters with reference to the US Department of Commerce.As the department said in a statement, we are talking about American chips that are used by Russia in missile and drone guidance systems.
In addition to Chinese ones, several companies in Germany, Finland, Britain, India, Turkey and the UAE were sanctioned.Commenting on the introduction of restrictions, US Secretary of Commerce Matthew Axelrod said that this sends a “clear message” to all countries: “If you supply American technology to the Russian defense sector, we will know about it and take action.”
Meanwhile, the International Monetary Fund said in its July forecast that the Russian economy will grow by 1.5 percent this year. Earlier in April, this fund predicted Russian economic growth at 0.7%.Since the Russian invasion of the country in February 2022, Kyiv has become the largest recipient of US aid.According to the Kiel Institute for World Economics, a German research institute, the Biden administration and the US Congress have sent a total of $76.8 billion in aid to Ukraine since the start of the Ukrainian war, of which $46.6 billion is military aid.
