A young Palestinian has passed away due to gunshot wounds he was hit by Israeli forces two years ago during Israel's brutal invasion of al-Aqsa Mosque in Quds (Jerusalem). The official Palestinian news agency, Wafa, announced the death of 30-year-old Hamza Abu Sneineh on Friday morning. Sneineh suffered serious injuries when a bullet pierced his skull during the violent attack on May 7, 2021, which coincided with Laylat al-Qadr, an important day for Muslims in the Holy Month of Ramadan. In the attack, the brutal Israeli soldiers used tear gas, steel bullets covered with rubber against the believers, causing hundreds of Palestinians to be injured. Sneineh suffered a fractured skull and lost his left eye as a result of the attack. He was rushed to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in al-Quds for treatment. Despite his poor condition, Israeli forces captured him several days later, and later released him. Medical sources have reported that Sneineh had been in severe pain from his injuries for months with his health deteriorating significantly in the weeks before his death.

Repeated acts of violence against Palestinian worshipers in the al-Aqsa Mosque in May 2021 led to an 11-day war between groups fighting for the liberation of Palestine in the Gaza Strip under siege by the illegal Israeli regime. During this conflict, Israeli forces killed at least 260 Palestinian martyrs, including 66 children. Al Aqsa Mosque Hard-line Israeli officials and settlers regularly raid the Al Aqsa Mosque, an act of provocation that angers Palestinians. These raids are often organized by Zionist settler gangs supported by the illegal Israeli regime. According to the agreement between Jordan, the guardian of Islamic and Christian areas in al-Quds, and Israel following the occupation of East al-Quds in 1967, non-Islamic worship in the mosque is prohibited. In addition to this, groups with extreme right-wing positions have given the Zionists a dangerous plan to turn al-Aqsa into a place of Jewish worship and to demolish the holy mosque in Islam to build a Jewish temple in that area.
