British Defense Minister Ben Wallace said in a written note to Parliament that Britain's special forces are at the center of an independent inquiry announced last December into allegations of unlawful killings carried out by His Majesty's soldiers in Afghanistan in the period 2010-2013. Furthermore, according to the minister, the investigation has reached the stage of hearings.

The allegations concern the work of the Special Air Service (Sas) with respect to the killings carried out in the province of Helmand and also cases of cover-up. In this regard, the BBC had conducted a lengthy investigation from which the operating mode of the SAS had emerged: unarmed Afghans were regularly eliminated during night raids, and weapons were placed on them to justify the crimes.
