African Union condemns Rashid Street massacre in Gaza
The African Union strongly condemned Israel's attack on those waiting for humanitarian aid at the Nablusi Junction on Rashid Street in the south of Gaza city.
African Union President Musa Faki Muhammed condemned Israel's attack on Palestinian civilians waiting for help in his statement on his social media account. Musa Faki Muhammed, who accused Zionist Israel of committing mass murder against Palestinians, demanded an international investigation into this tragic incident. The President of the African Union also called for a "ceasefire" for Gaza. European Union (EU) High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell stated that he condemned Israel's restrictions on the entry of humanitarian aid and called on Israel to facilitate existing entrances, open all doors and allow the humanitarian corridor. At least 112 people lost their lives in the attack carried out by the genocidal Israeli army on those waiting for humanitarian aid at the Nablusi Junction on Rashid Street in the south of Gaza city on March 1.
On December 29, 2023, South Africa filed a case against Israel at the International Court of Justice ICJ in The Hague Netherlands accusing the Zionist regime of violating the Genocide Agreement of 1948 during its military operations in the Gaza Strip. The ICJ Court also after examining the charges filed by South Africa against the Zionist regime on January 26 this year emphasized the need for emergency measures to be taken in the Gaza Strip, and declared in its judgment that the Zionist regime that is carrying out genocide must take action necessary to prevent the crime of genocide against a group of human beings. South Africa in the case against Israel at the ICJ The verdict explained that the Zionist administration should ensure that the Zionists do not commit the crime of genocide and at the same time should take steps to improve the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip. In relation to this issue and according to a report by the Africana news agency, Naledi Pandor, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Africa, said in an interview with al Mayadeen television that: Pretoria has told the International Court of Justice that it is concerned by the action of the Zionist regime's refusal to implement the original judgment of the court regarding the necessity of preventing the genocide of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. Speaking to al Mayadeen television, Ms. Pandor emphasized that South Africa is ready to submit valid arguments at the ICJ against the genocide of the Zionist regime in the Gaza Strip and said she was pleased with the large number of countries that have announced that they will join the case against of the violent Zionist regime.
