Ahmed Abu al-Gheith: Quds Faces Danger of Identity Spoofing
Arab League Secretary-General (LAS) Ahmed Abu al-Gheith has warned that the city of Quds is not only occupied by the Zionists, but also faces the danger of substitution of its historical, Islamic and Christian identity. On Sunday, in the capital of Egypt, Cairo, a conference was held in support of the capital of Palestine, the city of Quds, called "Quds - stability and development", in which Arab personalities took part at a high level and with the participation of international organizations and institutions.
Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abu al-Gheith warned during the Quds - Stability and Development conference on Sunday that Quds lives in the conscience of the Arabs, but today, in addition to the occupation, this city is facing an attempt to change it historical identity, and the occupying regime is trying to Judaize Quds through repression, demolition of houses and other arbitrary actions."
Emphasizing that the purpose of the conference is to support the resistance and stability of the people of Quds, he said that Quds is under occupation, and "no one in the radical cabinet can distort this fact, and all efforts to Judaize Quds will only lead to more violence." The Secretary General of the Arab League explained that this conference sends a signal to the world that there is a need to protect Quds from violations committed by the occupation regime, cases of Zionist aggression and Israeli invasion of Quds. Al-Aqsa Mosque, as the main symbol of the Islamic-Palestinian identity of the city of Quds, has always been the object of destructive actions by the Zionist regime of Israel, which occupied Quds.
