AI: Taliban immunity must end

According to the international human rights organization "Amnesty International" (ai), the impunity of the Taliban must be ended with the immediate establishment of an independent mechanism to investigate human rights crimes. A statement released by the organization yesterday (Saturday) said that since the Taliban took control of Afghanistan, there have been widespread human rights violations of vulnerable groups, including women, girls and religious and ethnic minorities. The AI statement further said: As the war between the Taliban and the Resistance Front continued in Panjshir, reports of the arbitrary detention, killing and torture of people in the province had been registered. According to the AI, three investigations into the killing of Hazaras in Afghanistan have been conducted, but the Taliban have failed to identify and prosecute the perpetrators of these events. According to the organization, the Taliban have used arbitrary arrests, executions, torture and kidnappings to demonstrate their unwillingness to conduct impartial, independent and effective investigations into human rights abuses by members of this group. Amnesty International has called on the international community to take concrete action on its repeated statements condemning human rights abuses in Afghanistan under Taliban rule. According to the AI statement, with an investigative mechanism and the establishment of a special commission, the UN Security Council can track the facts and circumstances related to crimes and human rights violations and identify the perpetrators.
