The military of Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan carried out an operation to destroy the conventional enemy at the "Oimasha" military training ground in Kazakhstan. The information is reported by RIA Novosti, referring to the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan.
The defense ministers of the five countries participating in the "Unity-2024" international military exercises followed the actions of the military.
"The actions unfolded at the "Oimasha" military training ground, where the servicemen of the participating countries played 17 tactical episodes. All of them served the common task of identifying, blocking and destroying illegal armed formations that seek to occupy the territory and create a caliphate," said the message, which was published on the website of the Kazakh military department.
The deployment of the militants was disrupted by artillery fire. The servicemen repulsed the attacks of a series of unmanned aerial vehicles launched from enemy positions using portable anti-aircraft missile systems and anti-aircraft installations in cooperation with radio electronic warfare means.
The exercises will then continue along the Caspian Sea coast and in the sea area near Cape Tokmak.
Earlier, the department informed that about 4 thousand servicemen and up to 700 units of weapons and military equipment are involved in the exercises.
