Biden: first Abrams tanks in Ukraine next week

US President Joe Biden has announced that the first American Abrams tanks will be delivered to Ukraine next week. Biden also announced that he had approved a new tranche of military assistance to Kiev, estimated by the Pentagon to be around $325 million. He announced it yesterday Thursday during a meeting at the White House with his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky. The United States had promised Ukraine a total of 31 Abrams tanks, which are equipped with 120 mm depleted uranium ammunition. Biden said his administration would continue to support Kiev's war against Russia.

Washington's new aid to Kiev includes air defense missiles, Himar multiple rocket launcher ammunition, anti-tank weapons and artillery ammunition.
