Blood Money: The Netherlands Profits from F-35 Parts Exports to Israel Amid Gaza's Massacre
In the past few days, supporters of the Palestinian cause have launched a lawsuit against the Dutch government for its role in the ongoing Israeli genocide in Gaza, presenting their case at the International Court of The Hague.
These reports come amid calls from human rights organizations urging the Dutch authorities to cease exporting weapons and vital military components to the Israeli regime.
The plaintiffs, which represent a coalition of Dutch and Palestinian NGOs, vehemently denounce the Netherlands of complicity in the abhorrent violence perpetrated against civilians in the Gaza Strip.
In early 2024, a landmark decision by The Hague Court of Appeal led to the suspension of shipments of critical components for F-35 fighter jets destined for the Israeli Air Force.
However, a troubling development has arisen, as Dutch authorities have announced their intention to appeal for the resumption of these deliveries.
Based on the most recent report published by the European Union, the Netherlands has been identified as the fifth leading provider of military equipment to Israel in 2022. The total value of these lethal instruments exceeded 12.5 million euros, reflecting a significant contribution to the ongoing ethnic cleansing in Palestine.
These Dutch-made lethal weapons have played a direct role in the massacre of over 44,000 Palestinian civilians in the besieged Gaza Strip, highlighting the deep hypocrisy embedded in the Netherlands' foreign policy.
