British Foreign Secretary: Israel is an occupying power
British Foreign Secretary David Cameron stated that Israel should provide electricity and water to Gaza and said, "From this podium, I must say once again that Israel is the occupying power. They have responsibilities."
Cameron, a member of the House of Lords, made evaluations about his country's foreign policy in the upper house of the British parliament.
Saying that 113 days have passed since he took office, Cameron noted that they showed solidarity with Israel after October 7, 2023, but also continued to work for more aid to enter Gaza and a sustainable ceasefire.
Cameron reminded that they have been warning of famine and epidemic in Gaza for a long time and said, "We are facing a terrible pain in Gaza."
Stating that there were deaths due to hunger and preventable diseases despite the warnings, Cameron said, "The situation is very bad and we are still working to ensure the entry of more aid. We have had a number of requests that we want Israel to fulfill. However, I must say that the aid that entered Gaza in February is the same as the aid that entered in January." "About half as much," he said.
Minister Cameron also stated that he will meet with Israeli War Cabinet Member Benny Gantz, who is visiting the UK today.
