Brussels to host meeting of leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia
The Prime Minister of Armenia will meet with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Saturday (July 15) in Brussels.According to Sputnik news agency, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a cabinet meeting that he would meet with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and European Council President Charles Michel as part of a trilateral meeting in Brussels.
It should be noted that on Wednesday the fourth meeting of the Commission on the issues of delimitation of the state border between Azerbaijan and Armenia was held on the border of the two countries.Yesterday, in a telephone conversation with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, Pashinyan stressed the commitment of the Armenian government to the peace agenda, pointing to the escalation of the humanitarian crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh, created as a result of Azerbaijan's illegal blocking of the Lachin corridor.
The last two rounds of talks between Yerevan and Baku, organized by Washington, ended in vain. The war over Nagorno-Karabakh ended on November 9, 2020 as a result of a ceasefire agreement signed by the Prime Minister of Armenia, the President of Azerbaijan and the President of Russia as an intermediary. However, despite the signing of a ceasefire agreement and negotiations at various levels between the two countries, tensions and conflicts are always observed on common borders.
