Call by the European Union to implement the Security Council resolution to end the war in the Gaza Strip
As reported by the Euronews agency, Joseph Borrell, saying that the European Union will continue to send its humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, added that the European Union stands for the establishment of safe passages and the provision of security and support for humanitarian workers who continue to work in the Gaza Strip .

Borrell, pointing out that political changes must be made after the establishment of a ceasefire, stressed that the formation of an independent Palestinian state is the only way to create lasting peace.

Finally, after almost 6 months of Israeli war in the Gaza Strip, members of the UN Security Council on March 25, 2024, with 14 positive votes of this council and with the United States abstaining, agreed to a resolution on the immediate establishment of a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip so that during the remaining days of the blessed month of Ramadan , a ceasefire was established between Israel and Hamas.

Previously, the US had vetoed three ceasefire resolutions, but this time it abstained from voting on the resolution, and thus the resolution was passed without any opposition from the permanent members of the Security Council.

This resolution was organized by the 10 non-permanent members of the Security Council.

This resolution emphasizes the need for an immediate ceasefire on the part of all parties during the month of Ramadan, as well as the immediate and unconditional release of all prisoners and the guarantee of humanitarian access to meet medical and other humanitarian needs.

March 25, 2024 Charles Michel, President of the European Council, posting on the social network X on Monday, said that the UN Security Council decision clearly calls for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

For over 6 months, Israel has committed all types of war crimes and genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip with political and military support from the United States and has martyred at least 33,176 Palestinians and injured more than 76,000. Most of the martyrs and wounded were children, women and old people.
