Canada supplies more Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine
Canada will deliver four additional Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine. This was announced by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau yesterday on the occasion of the first anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The number of main battle tanks made available by Canada thus increases to a total of eight. Canada has stood firm with Ukraine since the conflict began and will continue to do so, Trudeau said in Toronto. He also pledged another $23.5 million in aid to Ukraine to enhance stability and security in that country. Trudeau also announced further sanctions against 123 Russian individuals and 63 organizations. A year ago, on February 24, 2022, Russian troops invaded Ukraine. Western and European countries are supporting Ukraine with weapons and military equipment.
