Canadian authorities outraged by demonstrations in support of Palestinians

Demonstrations in support of the Palestinian group Hamas in various Canadian cities have angered the country's prime minister. According to news agency AB, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau wrote in a post on social media site X: "I strongly condemn these demonstrations that have taken place across the country in support of Hamas' attacks on Israel." He used the excuse that “glorifying violence is never acceptable in Canada.” On Monday, Trudeau also took part in a rally in solidarity with the Zionist regime and condemned the Hamas attacks. On Monday, various groups held numerous demonstrations and meetings across Canada, including in the city of Toronto. In the city of Toronto, a thousand people took part in a demonstration organized by a group called the Palestinian Youth Movement. Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow condemned the city's protests, saying the rally was unauthorized. Toronto police also said they respect the right to free speech but oppose incitement to hatred and glorification of violence. A Palestinian-Canadian woman demonstrating in support of Palestine condemned the Zionist regime's occupation of the West Bank and said the people of Gaza have been under siege for 16 years and Israel's illegal occupation must end.
