Caution about the consequences of human rights violations in the next period of Trump's presidency

Human Rights Watch has issued a strong warning saying that the second term of Donald Trump's presidency is a serious threat to human rights in the United States and around the world, and that independent institutions and civil society should hold the new president accountable in relation to this issue.

The report of this human rights institution says: "According to Amnesty International, the second term of Donald Trump's presidency in the United States is a great threat to human rights in the country and the world in general. This concern has been raised due to Trump's history of violating human rights during his previous presidency, which showed that he is a big supporter of whites who consider themselves bigger than other races and policies against democracy and human rights. In addition to that, one of his promises campaign is to encircle and deport millions of immigrants and retaliate against his political opponents."

The human rights organization's warning about the dangerous consequences of another Trump presidency on human rights in the United States and around the world is based on its poor performance in the field. During the first term of his presidency from January 2017 to January 2021, Trump promoted racist ideas and attitudes in the United States and indirectly killed even in some cases, he openly declared the claim of white supremacy and denigrate people of other races or Latinos. Also, by banning Muslims from several countries from entering the United States, Trump practically implemented a method of religious discrimination against immigrants. Amnesty International has documented several cases of Donald Trump violating human rights during his first term as president. Those cases include his efforts to deport asylum seekers and separate family members at the US-Mexico border, reinforce racist attitudes against black and other minority communities, adopt policies that punish low-income families and deny them services of health while inciting riots to change the results of the presidential election.

Donald Trump, the new president of the United States

The Human Rights Watch report pointed to Trump's dictatorial record and said:

"The 2025 project is a government plan prepared by Trump's former political advisers and associates, which identifies discriminatory and offensive policies that may be implemented by his new administration. Although he has distanced himself from the project, his statements confirm clearly his relationship with this project." Trump has also emphasized that he will take revenge against his political opponents. He strongly opposes the funding of humanitarian aid and efforts to protect civilians in conflicts and major conflicts. At the same time, the possibility of Trump collaborating with governments that violate human rights clearly shows the danger of strengthening those governments and thus harming people more and promoting violence and impunity for criminals and actors in the world.

Trump's neglect of the issue of human rights as well as his double-minded approach to this issue in the international arena are among the most important cases in his black record regarding the issue of human rights. When he came to power in the first term of his presidency, Donald Trump openly announced that he would not have anything to do with the internal affairs of partner countries, especially regarding human rights in those countries. This is the same attitude of Washington's duplicity regarding human rights, where it closely monitors the issue in countries that are its enemies or opponents, while completely ignoring and turning a blind eye to the issue in its friends and allies such as Saudi Arabia. One of the clear examples on this issue is the neglect made by the Trump administration regarding the brutal murder committed by the Saudi Arabian regime against the journalist Jamal Khashoggi, an opponent of the Saudi Crown Prince, Muhammad bin Salman. Despite the Saudis admitting responsibility for the brutal murder, the Trump administration did not take any action to punish Saudi Arabia for the brutal act.

Racist gangs in America supported by Trump

The point to be considered here is that Donald Trump pretended to be a defender of human rights and the interests of the Iranian people in the chaos created in the country by the enemies of the Islamic system in 2019. Donald Trump, hoping to achieve his illegal demands against Iran, he supported the violence of the instigators and asked for the support of the international community for the rioters. At the same time, the Trump administration, after withdrawing from the JCPOA international agreement in 2018, adopted a policy of maximum pressure against Iran and implemented the strongest and most brutal sanctions against the nation of the Islamic Republic of Iran. In this way, it is clear that Trump is using the issue of human rights as a tool to pressure countries that oppose American imperialism, and on the other hand, he turns a blind eye to the clear violation of human rights committed by the United States' partners in the world.
