Commander of the Zionist Central Region Army Resigns

Simultaneously with the resignation of the head of the Zionist regime's military intelligence department, the regime's media announced the decision of the commander of the regime's central region army to resign.

According to an Al-Mayadeen television report, Yehuda Fuchs, Commander of the Central Region of the Zionist Regime Army, after holding the position for three years, has communicated his decision to resign to the Chief of Joint Staff of the Army, Herzi Holloway.

As per this report, Fuchs said he will resign from his post in August this year.

The publication of this news occurred when Aharon Haliva, Head of the Zionist Military Intelligence Department announced his resignation on Monday (22/4) due to failure to face Palestinian resistance in the Al-Aqsa storm operation on October 7 2023 and said, October 7 was a dark day for me.

After more than six months have passed since the Zionist regime's futile invasion of the Gaza Strip, this regime is increasingly sinking into a mire of internal and external crises.

The Israeli military's Netzah Yehuda unit was charged with human rights violations. The Axios page last Saturday announced the potential sanctions of the Netzah Yehuda unit by the United States in the near future, and then the American Secretary of State, Antony Blinken stated that Washington's decision regarding this matter was taken based on a "Detailed Evaluation". The important question is what the Netzah Yehuda unit was and what crimes it committed.

The Netzah Yehuda unit was formed from radical elements. The report states that elements of the Natsah Yehuda extremist battalion consist of Haredi religious nationalist extremists and an extremist religious group known as "Shabiba al-Talal" (Hilltop Youth), which attacks Palestinians in the West Bank with inhumane acts on a daily basis.

Netzah Yehuda Unit

Netzah Yehuda is the 97th unit of the Israeli army in which Haredi religious troops serve. Although most Haredi Jews are exempt from military service to continue their religious studies at religious studies colleges, this army-affiliated unit has allowed Haredi Jews interested in the military to join the army since 1999 (25 years ago) . All members of this battalion are men and women are not allowed to join .

After several years, this battalion gradually revealed itself as a representative of Jewish terrorist activists living in settlements around the West Bank. Although violence is inherently the nature of the Israeli army, this highly racist unit committed widespread violence and various illegal acts. In 2021, the Zionist newspaper Yediot Aharonot announced in a report that soldiers of this battalion stole Palestinian cars at gunpoint and in military uniforms, and took them to their base and detained them without coordinating with the army or police. In 2019, Or Hiller, a military reporter for Israel's Kanal 10 television, published a video showing that soldiers from the battalion made a Palestinian and his child sleep on the hood of a jeep and tortured them.

Allegations of illegal acts and violence carried out by a number of officers from this unit have become stronger since January 2022; When the body of an elderly Palestinian-American was seen by people in the town of Jaljilyah in January with his hands tied and his mouth gagged, he died in the cold. Omar Asad, 80, who had just returned to his city from 11 years living in the United States, was captured by Netzah Yehuda troops and taken into a military vehicle while wearing one sandal. 40 minutes later, he was taken out of the car with his hands tied and a cloth over his mouth. The doctor who came to his rescue later said that the old man had suffered a stroke due to a seizure and died of cold.

The widespread violence of this very racist army unit not only forced the United States to speak out, it even made Zionist citizens protest. In 2019 an Israeli court tried five soldiers from this unit for breaking the bones of a number of Palestinians during arrest. Amos Harel, a military analyst with Haaretz Newspaper, said that a number of high-ranking Israeli officers who witnessed the behavior of the Netzah Yehuda Battalion closely admitted that the regime's military was experiencing serious friction with this battalion.
