Yemen Mocks German Warship's Exit from Red Sea

The deputy foreign minister of Yemen's National Salvation Government mocked the exit of the German warship from the Red Sea, calling it a "step on the right path".

Yemen's Deputy Foreign Minister, Hussein Al Ezzi, Sunday (21/4/2024) called the exit of the German warship, Hessen, from the Red Sea, a "maneuver on the right path".

He said that Yemen's greatest concern was protecting the safety of shipping, and highly respecting the rights and interests of other nations.

"No one in this world is forced to be hostile to us, but whoever does, has made a fatal mistake against himself and us," stressed Al Ezzi.

Yemen's Deputy Foreign Minister added that other countries must also be on the same level as Yemen in paying attention to shipping. Other countries should do the same, and respect Yemen.

The German warship Hessen left the Red Sea on Saturday. The ship, which carries 240 crew members, was placed on February 8 2024 in the Red Sea, after previously serving in the Mediterranean Sea.

The warship Hessen, is part of the European Union Maritime Coalition, which was formed in the Red Sea. As is known, European countries, together with the United States, formed a maritime coalition to fight Yemen.

Earlier on Thursday, the Secretary General of Yemen's Ansarullah, Sayid Abdul Malik Al Houthi, threatened European countries, and asked them to withdraw war equipment from the Red Sea.
