Days after approval of a new $95 billion US aid bill for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan in the US House of Representatives, the country's Senate also approved it on Tuesday evening.

The bill was approved by the House of Representatives last week after months of delays and wrangling, and became law with Biden's signature.

US President Joe Biden said Wednesday (24/4/2024) local time, "Over the next few hours, we will begin sending equipment to Ukraine, including air defense, ammunition for artillery rocket systems and armored vehicles."

The US arms package includes nearly $61 billion in aid for Ukraine, more than $26 billion for Israel, and $8 billion for the Indo-Pacific region.

Responding to the new US decision, the Kremlin announced Wednesday, "If Kyiv receives the advanced missile system known as ATACM from the United States, then Russia will expand the buffer zone to push Ukrainian forces back even further."

The White House in October 2023 announced it would supply an advanced missile system that can target targets up to 165 kilometers away to Ukraine to confront Russian forces.

After some time, the new package, which is ready to be sent to Ukraine after the approval of the aid bill to this country in the US Congress, will include a more advanced system that has a range of more than 300 kilometers.(PH)
