Earth Day against Israeli crimes

Earth Day against Israeli crimes

Every March 30 is the anniversary of Earth Day. Again this year, Palestinians participated in the celebrations for the 47th anniversary of Earth Day. As per "ordinary administration", the Israeli military intervened trying to interrupt the demonstrations. The excessive deployment of forces is also part of ordinary Israeli administration: eyewitnesses reported the presence of hundreds of soldiers, local media report. Protesters waved Palestinian flags and chanted slogans for unity and an end to the occupation. Earth Day celebration marches and events were held throughout the occupied West Bank. The origin of this anniversary dates back to March 30, 1976, when the Israeli authorities decided to confiscate much land in the Galilee to build illegal settlements. The Palestinians opposed this decision but the protest was suffocated in blood: seven dead and dozens injured. Since that day, every year, on March 30th, Land Day is celebrated in Palestine, in honor of the heroic struggle for the re-appropriation of the land illegally and with impunity taken by the Zionist state, to denounce the crimes of Israeli colonialism to the world and to be united in the struggle for freedom, equality and self-determination of the Palestinian people.
