Echoes of Defeat: How Has Israel's Image of Invincibility Been Undermined?
Fourteen months into the Israeli aggression against the besieged Gaza Strip, the Israeli regime's Civil Investigation Committee released its findings on the events of October 7, 2023. Compiled from extensive interviews with eyewitnesses and former senior military and political officials, the report unequivocally described that day as an utter failure, resulting from the political and military leadership's disregard for critical realities.
The committee acknowledged the complete fiasco involving the Israeli army, as well as the Shin Bet and Aman intelligence-security agencies, citing their disregard for warnings and their inability to effectively deliver or respond to those dangerous indications; as in some cases, warnings were entirely overlooked.
The Israeli army's leadership, according to a fact-finding committee, bears responsibility for adopting the "small but smart army" strategy alongside a strong reliance on new technologies. However, the broader responsibility rests with Prime Minister Netanyahu.
Israeli leaders acknowledge that assigning blame shall not alter the irreversible catastrophe, as they are well aware that Israel's pre-October 2023 image cannot be restored.
