The British Foreign Office has said that a meeting will be held between them and the European Union's foreign policy chief to increase economic pressure on Russia. The newspaper Die Welt reported the news, adding that the European Union and Britain want to intensify pressure on Russia and strengthen their defense plans against Moscow.
The British Foreign Office said in a statement that: The European Union's foreign policy chief, Kaia Kallas, the British Foreign Secretary, David Lamy, and the British Defense Secretary, John Healy, were to meet today, Tuesday.
The statement added that the talks will also aim to strengthen the parties' measures to counter common threats such as cyberattacks, election interference and the spread of misinformation.
It was also planned that today, Tuesday, German Chancellor Olaf Schulz would host French President Emmanuel Macron in Berlin.
These actions by European countries against Russia have come in a situation where, a few days ago and in parallel with trying to show that the US position has changed regarding Russia, US President Donald Trump decided to send a new shipment of weapons to Ukraine to continue the war with Russia. Trump's action was considered a continuation of the same daily politics of the two-faced US.
