France's military exports

It came to light a few weeks into the Moscow–Kyiv military conflict that France had been supplying Russia with armaments since the Kremlin's annexation of the Crimean peninsula and had continued to do so until 2020. The exposé came out at a time when sanctions against Russia were a top priority for Europe. The French Ministry of Armed Forces, however, confirmed the accuracy of the report. Since the beginning of the crisis between Russia and Ukraine, France has supplied Ukraine with weapons. French Senator Florian Philippe says that the lunacy of supplying arms to Ukraine must cease.
The Stockholm International Peace Research Institute estimates that France exported about 11 percent of the world's armaments in 2022.
In the previous year, about 28 billion euros had been generated through the sale of arms. According to Amnesty International, France has violated the Arms Trade Treaty, and it is the third country whose arms cast a shadow over major international crises. The United States remains by far the leader in the sale of weapons.
