The Japanese Foreign Minister said that the foreign ministers of the G7 countries expressed concern about the situation in the occupied territories and emphasized improving humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip. According to Japanese news agency Kyodo, Yoko Kamikawa said: “In a telephone meeting, the G7 foreign ministers strongly condemned the war between Israel and Palestine and promised to work more closely with each other to resolve the conflict.”

Noting that she informed her G7 colleagues that Japan had allocated $10 million in aid to the civilian population of the Gaza Strip, the Japanese Foreign Minister added: “Japan is actively pursuing relevant issues so that the situation in West Asia returns to normal as soon as possible.” Japan's top diplomat expressed concern on behalf of the G7 members that a few days after the Palestinian resistance operation Al-Aqsa Storm against the Zionist regime, five G7 members issued a joint statement calling for unified support for Israel and condemnation of Hamas.
