Germany in the field of confrontation between Russia and the USA

Under the pretext of confronting Russia, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany welcomed the deployment of the American missile system in his country. The USA announced at the last meeting of the North Atlantic Alliance, NATO, that it intends to deploy its long-range weapons in Germany.

As AP notes, this issue has been severely criticized by some German parties and politicians. A number of foreign officials and experts consider Berlin's acceptance of the deployment of an American missile system in Germany subservient to US rule.

German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock recently announced her support for the deployment of long-range missiles in Germany, arguing that Russia has expanded its arsenal under Vladimir Putin's presidency.

Rolf Motsenisch, the leader of the German Social Democratic Party faction in the parliament, expressed concern about the German government's agreement with the US and warned that the dangers of deploying these American weapons should not be ignored.

Meanwhile, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov, opposing the US plan to deploy long-range missiles in Germany by 2026, said: - "In response to that move, Moscow may deploy missiles with nuclear warheads."

The English "Financial Times" newspaper, referring to the upcoming presidential elections in the USA and the possibility of Donald Trump's re-election, describes the prospects of the second Trump administration as "full of fear" for the current leaders of Berlin.

This newspaper notes: "One of the concerns of policy makers in Berlin is that the political trends in America, like in France, will aggravate the political situation in Germany as well.

In this regard, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov recently criticized Germany at the UN Security Council session, considering Berlin's submission to Washington's demands as a sign of that country's humiliation.

Ruhullah Modber, an expert on Russian affairs, also characterizes Germany as a country occupied by the USA and says: - The issue of deploying hypersonic missiles and the proposed secret plan to deploy 800,000 NATO troops in Germany shows that Germany has somehow been occupied by the US and has become a base for anti-Russian operations.
