Glenn Deezen: The Hegemony of the West is coming to an end
A professor of international relations at Norwegian universities said that Western hegemony is ending at the same time as the rapid decline of American power in the world. In an interview, Glenn Deezen said: "I think that the current situation points to the end of 500 years of American dominance. The war in Ukraine is primarily about abandoning efforts to strengthen and develop US hegemony, and not about Russian security."
"After 30 years of NATO expansion, which has been a path to strengthening US hegemony, now we see that Russia has challenged this balance of military power," he added. The Norwegian University professor continued, "I make the same argument in economic terms, and I think that economically America is so hostile to China."
Pointing to the use of national currencies by countries, Glenn Diesen noted: “At a time when some countries are trying to abandon the dollar in settlements and begin the process of de-dollarization, it is clear that if the dollar is abandoned, there will be no trace of the empire (USA).”
He further added: “This arrangement has given special privileges to the US and its allies, created grounds for them to intervene in the affairs of other countries of the world and overthrow their governments under some pretext. At the moment, the US is very nervous because their new security strategy is based on rejection of new competitors. Now this country is seeing a rapid loss of its influence in the world."
