A statement issued by Hamas said, "Zionist terrorists have committed the seventh murder of our prisoners from the occupied West Bank by killing Abdul Rahman al-Bahsh in Megiddo Prison". The statement went on to explain: "we condemn the continuation of the killings amid the silence of international human rights organizations and groups defending prisoners of war". Hamas has noted that the deaths of the Palestinian hostages will ultimately harm the violent regime in Tel Aviv. In a separate statement, the Palestinian Resistance movement has called on the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and human rights organizations to shoulder their responsibilities in relation to Palestinian hostages. The commission said that the Israeli Prison Service (IPS) continues to kill more Palestinian prisoners in its detention centers, subjecting them to torture and systematic abuse.
