Hamas: Riyadh meeting's final statement disappoints

One of the leaders of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (HAMAS) described the trade statement of the meeting held in Riyadh two days ago as disappointing and said that Arab and Islamic countries were not using the levers of their power. On Saturday, a joint meeting of the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation was held in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, to consider ways to end the war in the Gaza Strip with the participation of their heads of state, but, according to observers, ultimately did not lead to any progress. or tangible and other results. According to the Al-Mayadeen network, Osama Hamdan at a press conference called the final statement of the Arab-Islamic summit in Riyadh “disappointing” and added: “We expected our Arab and Muslim brothers to use the levers of their power during the meeting in Riyadh to stop the suffering of the people of Gaza."

Hamdan added: “Only Gazans will govern this region, and our blood, our lives, will be the price of our freedom.” Continuing his speech, he pointed to the bombing of hospitals in the Gaza Strip and added: “The occupation regime tried to keep its crimes secret when it bombed al-Maamadani hospital, but today it is openly bombing other hospitals, and the responsibility for these crimes lies on the shoulders of all those who could not do anything to stop the Zionists." Noting that the occupying army is being hit painfully day and night on every square meter of Gaza's streets, the Hamas leader added: "Those soldiers who are not killed on the battlefield will be suffocated by the explosions of Al-Yasin 105 rockets inside Merkava tanks." The Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement also sharply criticized the meeting in Riyadh on Sunday and said: “The final statement shows that all Arab and Islamic countries are shirking their responsibilities, including the responsibility to protect Arab and Islamic national security, and are refusing Palestine and its people."

In response to more than 7 decades of occupation of Palestine and more than 10 years of siege of the Gaza Strip, as well as the imprisonment and torture of thousands of Palestinians, the Islamic resistance movement Hamas launched Operation Al-Aqsa Storm on October 7th. The operation is considered one of the deadliest attacks against the regime; Hamas fighters entered the occupied territories through border barriers at several points, attacked villages and killed or captured a number of Israeli soldiers. Therefore, to compensate for its defeats in resistance operations, the Zionist regime has repeatedly bombed various areas of the Gaza Strip since October 7, killing at least 11,028 Palestinians, including 4,506 children, 3,27 women and 678 elderly people. The number of victims of the crimes of the Zionist regime has risen to more than 27,500 people. Also, more than 2,300 missing people have been registered, of which 1,500 are children and are still under the rubble.
