Hamas wanted to release 2 prisoners
Hamas spokesman says the Palestinian resistance movement intended to release two more prisoners solely on humanitarian grounds but Israel refused to accept them.
Speaking on Saturday, Abu Ubaida, spokesperson for Hamas' military wing, the al-Qassam Brigades, said in a brief statement that the movement had informed Qatar that it intended to release two more female prisoners "for compelling humanitarian reasons and without any compensation." . This was reported by the Palestinian Information Center. “However, the occupation regime refused to take them in,” the spokesperson added, identifying the prisoners as Nurit Yitzhak and Yochved Lifshitz. Abu Ubaida had previously said that the number of Israelis captured during the al-Aqsa Storm operation, which began on October 7, is around 250. He noted that 200 of these prisoners were held by the al-Qassam Brigades, while the rest were held by other factions of the Palestinian resistance.
