Head of RSF: We are ready to stop the war to allow humanitarian aid
General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, head of the RSF force in Sudan, has said that the group is ready to implement a ceasefire plan throughout the country to allow the distribution of humanitarian aid.
General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, head of the RSF force in Sudan, has said that the group is ready to implement a ceasefire plan throughout the country to allow the distribution of humanitarian aid. The RSF leader made the statement after the head of the country's army, General Abdel-Fattah al-Burhan, accused the militants of obstructing peace efforts.
Al-Burhan has also called on the United Nations Security Council to recognize the Rapid Support Force (RSF) led by his opponent Hamdan Dagalo as a terrorist group, saying that they are carrying out ethnic killings, forcing people to leave their homes as well as genocide.
This is reported when fierce fighting has continued to be reported in various parts of Sudan including the capital Khartoum and the city of Omdurman.
At the same time, reports say that the fighters of the RSF force have also continued to advance in other areas of Sudan in recent months in a conflict that has caused a great human disaster in Sudan.
The armed conflict started in Sudan on April 15 last year (2023) between the army of the country (SAF) led by General Abdel Fattah al Burhan who is the leader of Sudan and the militants of the Rapid Support Force (RSF) whose commander is Hamdan Dagalo.
Until now, international mediation efforts to end the fighting and convince the rival parties to sit at the negotiating table have hit a rock.
