The graduation ceremony for Syrian Military Academy cadets in the city of Homs on Thursday (5/10/2023) was the target of a terrorist drone attack. This event was held in the presence of civilians and the cadets' families, resulting in 89 civilians being killed and 277 others being injured. According to the MEMO report, Lebanese Hezbollah Friday (6/10/2023) in its statement condemned the terrorist attack on the graduation ceremony for Syrian Military Academy cadets and the deaths of civilians as well as causing dozens of injuries to both Syrian military and civilians.

"This heinous crime once again emphasizes the legitimacy of fighting the terrorist group for more than a decade and against its regional and international supporters and establishment as well as the danger of an ongoing global conspiracy against Syria and its fighting people. Terrorist groups with apparent foreign support to play their criminal role, return to the field and these actions will be repeated whenever life in Syria returns to normal," the Hezbollah statement added.

Muqawama Islam Lebanon emphasized that this painful tragedy cannot destroy Syria's determination, but will strengthen Syria's determination, will and strength to fight, achieve victory and defend its territorial integrity. Lebanese Hezbollah expressed its condolences to the Syrian nation and president as well as the country's military for the tragedy, and stressed its full support to the Syrian leadership, military and nation in the fight against terrorism.
