Imam Khamenei: The JCPOA experience shows that negotiations with the US will not solve any problems

On Friday morning, February 8, 1979, Bahman 19, 1357 Iranian calendar year, the anniversary of the historic alliance of the aviation forces with the late Imam Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, during a meeting with a group of commanders and personnel of the Islamic Republic of Iran's air force and defense forces, Imam Khamenei said: "Negotiating with America is not prudent, sensible, and honorable."

In this meeting, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution called the historic day of Bahman 19 the birthday of a glorious, independent army with its own identity. Referring to the futile attempt of nearly 2 years of negotiations with the US in the 1990s and America’s actions to violate all its obligations, the esteemed leader added: “Negotiations with America will not solve any problem, including economic and domestic difficulties, just as it did not solve them. Therefore, the solution to the problems lies in the “efforts of committed officials and the support of a united nation,” and God willing, on February 12, we will see that unity and unity.” As reported by Pars Today, referring to the information website of the Office of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, referring to the hard work of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran in negotiating, traveling and concluding agreements with all countries of the world, Imam Khamenei emphasized: “The only exception in this matter is the US.” Of course, we do not make an exception for the Zionist regime, because this regime is not essentially a state, but a criminal gang that appropriates land.

Explaining the reason for America's exclusion from the negotiations, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution said:

Some pretend that if we sit at the negotiating table, a certain problem will be solved, but the reality that we need to understand correctly is that negotiating with America has no impact on solving the country's problems.

Imam Khamenei considered the negative experience of the 1990s and the nearly two-year negotiations with the US and several other countries, which led to the signing of the nuclear agreement, as the reason for the futility of negotiations with the US, and added:

-Our government at the time sat down with them at the table, communicated, negotiated, they laughed, shook hands, became friends, and an agreement was signed, by which the Iranian side generously made many concessions in favor of the other side, but the Americans did not honor that agreement.

Referring to the words of the current US president about tearing up the JCPOA, His Eminence Khamenei noted:

-Before him, the previous US administration, which had accepted the agreement, did not respect it, and the US sanctions that were supposed to be lifted were not lifted, and the UN issue also remained a constant threat to Iran.

Referring to the Americans' efforts to change the map of the world, Imam Khamenei said at this meeting:

-This work of theirs does not correspond to reality and is only on paper. Of course, they also express opinions, talk and threaten us.

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution emphasized:

"If they threaten us, we will threaten them, if they carry out their threat, we will carry out our threat, and if they attack the security of our nation, we will attack their security without hesitation."

The esteemed leader considered Iran's defense a priority, and strengthening the army the most important duty, adding:

-The army of the Islamic Republic of Iran must be strengthened in terms of manpower, armament, training, combat and defense readiness, elimination of weaknesses and potential losses, as well as daily innovation and innovative production, and prove that it can do much greater things.

*On February 8, 1979, a group of air force personnel met with Imam Khomeini, the great founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, at the Alavi School in Tehran and officially declared their allegiance by holding a parade.
