Increasing readiness and combat capability is the most important responsibility of Iran's armed forces

As reported by  the Supreme Leader's office, Imam Khamenei met on Wednesday with officials and commanders of the Iranian army and navy to commemorate the 1980. November 28, the anniversary of the feat of the frigate Peikan against the Iraqi Ba'athist enemy, is called Navy Day, and the Navy has been recognized as a vital and crucial force in today's world.

Imam Khamenei praised the activities of various operational, intelligence, support, construction and innovation units of the Iranian Navy and said that the focus of the Iranian Armed Forces, especially the Navy, should be focused on increasing readiness and combat capability in all operations and programs.

Venerable Ayatollah Khamenei considered the increase in combat capability as a way to prevent the invasion of the enemy and added: "The most important task of the armed forces of the Islamic Republic is to prevent the invasion, so it is necessary to emphasize the country's fighting ability in the eyes of the ill-wishers of Iran, so that they really feel that any confrontation will bring a heavy price for them."

The leader of the Islamic Revolution considered the continuation of sea missions necessary and said: "As it was said before, the mission of the 86th squadron lasting several months and its details can be brought to the public opinion with the language and tools of art."

At the beginning of the meeting, Commander of the Naval Forces of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Admiral Irani reported on the programs and activities of these forces in various fields.
