Iraq issues a warning after the US carried out airstrikes in the country
The government of Iraq has strongly condemned the air attacks carried out by American warplanes against several areas of the country and its neighboring country Syria and emphasized that these attacks have violated the sovereignty of the country.
General Yehya Rasool, the Spokesman of the Prime Minister of Iraq, Mohamed Shia al-Sudani, said in a statement that, "The airstrikes have trampled on the self-governing authority of Iraq." He has made it clear that the airstrikes carried out by the US military last Friday against the strongholds of the opposition groups in Iraq and Syria are unacceptable, and have violated the airspace and self-governing authority of the Arab country. Rasool has also emphasized once again that Iraq will not be turned into a part of violating the sovereignty of any country, especially neighboring countries. The senior officer of the Iraqi Army has said that the United States has carried out these attacks at a time when this region is already facing the risk of expanding the crisis caused by Israel's war against the Palestinians of the Gaza Strip. General Yehya Rasool, Spokesman of the army and Prime Minister of Iraq, Mohamed Shia al-Sudani Rasool said that the actions of the United States will have negative consequences for the security and stability of Iraq and the entire region of West Asia in general. Camps and bases of the US-led military coalition in Syria and Iraq have been attacked more than 130 times by rebel groups, since the Gaza war began on October 7 last year. The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has confirmed that its troops attacked 85 locations in the countries of Iraq and Syria on Friday. US President Joe Biden has claimed that Washington has taken that step, as part of the country's response to the latest attack by drones on a small base of the army located in Jordan, which led to the destruction of three US soldiers.
