Israel and the new steps to fulfil the sinister dream of the Judization of the West Bank
At present, we are witnessing a concerted effort by Zionist political groups to accelerate their longstanding objective of systematic Judization in the occupied Palestinian territories and the city of Bayt al-Muqaddas [Jerusalem]. Israel's bid to separate Bayt al-Muqaddas from its Islamic and Arabic roots and render it more accommodating to Zionist settlers The Zionist regime has employed a variety of strategies to achieve its objectives, with a primary focus on the creation of extensive settlements in the occupied West Bank and the relocation of Israel's capital from Tel Aviv to Bayt al-Muqaddas.
The construction of illegal settlements in the West Bank by the Zionist regime remains a contentious topic, with limited international intervention to address it. These settlements have effectively resulted in the annexation of the area by the Zionists. Recently, the extremist cabinet of the Zionist regime approved a plan for the construction of 4,500 residential units in the West Bank, which has accelerated the pace of unlawful construction in the occupied territories. Unlike previous approvals for 10,000 units, this decision is unique as it obviates the need for authorization from the Israeli Ministry of War in the past 25 years for settlement construction in the West Bank. This move is expected to expedite the process and allow for more residential units to be erected. Previously, five approvals were necessary for the construction of a single unit. A senior Israeli official in charge of settlements views this as a landmark development.
It is worth noting that the blessing of this recent initiative has come from Bezalel Smotrich, an infamous racist minister in Netanyahu's cabinet. Unfortunately, Smotrich now holds the authority to grant permission for the construction of Zionist settlements in the West Bank. The recent transfer of jurisdiction has raised concerns among political analysts as it appears to be a calculated move to advance the Judization of the West Bank. Given these circumstances, the Palestinian resistance's operations will probably increase the already existing threats against Zionist occupiers.
Moreover, this development is likely to have far-reaching implications for the Zionist regime, particularly in light of their recent diplomatic overtures towards Saudi Arabia. The Saudi Arabian government has recently made clear that a crucial prerequisite for establishing normalised relations with the Zionist regime is the resolution of the ongoing Palestinian issue. However, it appears that the Zionists are not evincing any willingness to address the decades-long crisis.
The recent decision by the Zionist regime to accelerate the construction of settlements in the occupied West Bank has prompted alarm and criticism from a number of international organisations, including the United Nations.
Even the United States has joined the chorus of countries voicing their disapproval of the Zionist regime's decision to greenlight a new settlement project in the West Bank.
The Security Council's Resolution 2334 condemned the Zionist Authority's settlement building in occupied Palestine. The resolution has called for a cessation of all settlement construction and expansion in the 1948 occupied Palestinian territories, including East Bayt al-Muqaddas [Jerusalem]. Yet the Zionists don't seem to care much about this UN decision.
