Israel's war on Gaza: The head of the military intelligence resigns to take the blame for the attack by Hamas
Major General Aharon Haliva, the head of Israel's military intelligence unit, has announced his resignation due to the failure to prevent the historic attack by the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas on October 7, 2023.
Major General Aharon Haliva has said in his letter of resignation as the head of the intelligence unit of the Israeli army that the unit did not carry out the task assigned to it.
He said, I admit that we failed miserably in the intelligence aspect and that is why HAMAS launched a major attack against us without us showing a quick response to stop HAMAS.
He has claimed that they saw signs of an October 7 attack but all reports were ignored by the highest levels of the military and government because there was a belief that Hamas had no intention of launching an attack against Israel and that Hamas was more interested in managing Gaza.
The historic and surprising attack by HAMAS that took place on October 7, 2023, has humiliated Israel, especially its intelligence agencies that in the past were proud of being invincible and supposedly having a long arm.
The head of Israel's armed forces, Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi and the head of the domestic intelligence agency Shin Bet, Ronen Bar, both accepted responsibility after the attack, but both are involved in the brutal war against the people of Gaza.
The one who seems to be the biggest power grabber is Israel's prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, who has so far not accepted responsibility, although studies show that many Israelis blame him for failing to prevent or protect the Zionist regime in the face of the attack by HAMAS.
