Joint exercise between Russia and Syria 

A media source announced the exercise of the Russian Air Force and Syrian Army special forces in the Mediterranean and several other provinces.According to the RT news agency, the Russian Air Force carried out joint military exercises with the "special forces" of the Syrian army, focusing on parachute landing operations during the day and night, with the participation of attack helicopters and Russian transport aircraft.

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced in a statement today that this training was held by Russian instructors with soldiers of the "25th division" of the Syrian army, and focused on how to use parachute landings through transport aircraft and helicopters of the Russian Air Force.

The Russian Ministry of Defense added in this statement that the exercise and parachuting operations were carried out day and night by Russian helicopters and Ilyushin-76 transport planes. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense report, more than 1,500 parachute jumps were performed during this exercise over the deserts of Idlib province, the mountains of Latakia and the Mediterranean Sea.

The statement further states: Syrian forces were trained for the first time in mass parachute operations from a height of five thousand meters. According to the announcement of the Russian Ministry of Defense, this exercise ended in the final stage with the practice and simulation of an operation to control the enemy airfield.
